
The repertoire for this contest can consist of any musical piece selected by the musician. These include, but are not limited to, Classical, Jazz-Blues, Popular music, Broadway, or a self composed piece. The piece may not exceed 5 minutes. Playing one or more movements of a selection, rather than the entire piece, is allowed provided that the maximum time is observed. If two or more movements must be used to comply with the maximum time they should be contrasting movements.

If the musician's performance calls for an accompanist, he/she may bring their own, or use an accompanist provided by LMF. Please notify LMF a week prior to the scheduled audition if the service of an accompanist is required. The charge for this service is $30.00.Additional rehearsals with the accompanist may be arranged privately.

All judges will be selected by the LMF. They will be assembled from highly accredited music professionals. These judges will select 20 musicians who will continue on to perform at the final concert and compete for the grand prizes. All participants will be judged using the following criteria: musicality, expressiveness, accuracy, technique, memorization, stage presence and etc. All judges' decisions are final.

The final concert will be held at NPL on Saturday May 7th, 2005 at 2:00 pm. Admission and parking will be free. Refreshments will be provided during intermission. The musicians have a choice of performing the same piece as the audition or selecting a new one does not exceed 5 minutes. At the conclusion of the concert the judges will announce the winners.

Every PARTICIPANT will receive professional comments and recommendations from judges.
Every FINALIST will receive a "Certificate of Achievement" along with professional comments and recommendations from judges.
The Grand Prize - $500.
The Second Prize - $250.
The Third Prize - $150.
(In addition to these main prizes, other various prices will be announced at the concert)
